Like many SL denizens, shortly after entering SL I started Landmarking locations which seemed worthy of a return visit. Shortly after that, I found that actually finding a particular bookmark when I wanted it was no mean feat. Enter Gridmarker and Sloog. Both free services provide a HUD which allows recording and tagging of SL locations. Gridmarker has compelling features: open soure, finer granularity, simple input of existing LMs, flexible input channel, even an API. Alas, Sloog is more polished. It's prettier and the HUD is smaller. Gridmarker shows promise, but I had trouble getting it to work consistently. Sloog wins, but I'm keeping my eye on Gridmarker.
