I purchased a small plot of main land the other day so that I could host some of my SL Exchange servers in a separate location as fail-over servers.
SLX appears to be losing contact with my severs very often on the woodbridge sim. It had gotten so bad that I've had to visit each day and reset all 15 of them and verify that SLX was listing the items as available again.
I used the extra space as a small store. It is doubtful to get any sales, but it isn't hurting anything. I threw up a demo of a teleporter that can move up 700 meters in the blink of an eye, and put my count-down timer up there as well.
I checked my sl exchange account today and was very disappointed. Most of my inventory was unassociated, but all the servers were being listed as active. Something was seriously wrong here.
I teleported over to the location and selected all boxes and reset all scripts. I was tired of touching each box and clicking the reset button. I wanted results ASAP.
During my little reset process, I noticed that the boxes still had a special script I added to log sales on my own website. I started removing the script from each drop box because they simply were not working anyway.
I am beginning to wonder if this script was causing problems with the items being available. If that's the case, I feel as if I could tap my fore head quote Homer Simpsons catch phrase, "Doh!".
I'll have to keep an eye out and see if there are any changes. I am aware that I do lose a lot of sales through SLX when the servers are not up and running. It has become sort of a ritual for me to keep resetting these things every day.
I've asked other people about this and no one has had any such problems before. I don't even have that many items in the servers. I used to have everything in one drop box in my early days until I found that it started to cause problems as I added more items over time. Ever since, I try to keep it simple.
