Pros and Cons of BlogHUD
[ETA: this is what I mean about it not interpreting the line breaks properly. Each of these points were on separate lines in the notecard.]
Pros - - I love being able to blog from inside SL. - It updates my LJ along with my bloghud site. - It posts my pics when I send them as postcards. - I love all of the different categories and can't wait to start using them more.
Cons - - When pasting chat logs, it doesn't make each line of chat on a separate line, so it all runs together - There doesn't seem to be any way to click through to get the initial postcard size and quality sent to the site. :/ - This is a small nitpick, but it would be nice if the title of the notecard dropped on the HUD could be used as the title for the post rather than typing /9 Title. - Sometimes postcards don't post and I don't know if it's an SL issue or a blogHUD issue. Most of them make it through okay, but not all. - BlogHUD won't forward my postcards to SLUniverse, which means posting everything twice if I want pictures both places.
Koz Farina posted at 04:04:04 - Sat 25th of August, 2007 GMT Hi there and thanks for the feedback and thoughts! :) Without that, I'd never get anywhere :)
All good points. Some of them, especially the notecaord bits are beyond my control at the moment. I have also wanted these features myself! :)
If SLUniverse supports the 'Blogger or MetaWeblog API' or emailing pictures etc to them, then that would work. I'd just have to add another field for it :)
Regarding any send failures, I notice times that some pix of mine don't seem to ever leave the SL server and reach mine. Don;t forget how busy an email serve rit must be : sending out image attachments all day for potentially millions of us all.
I have plans for a laod of new stuff for the bloghud, but RL projects and RL itself have kept me out if it for a while.
Fear not! Changes and updates ARE on the way!
Cheers and Happy HUDslinging! :)
