Fibonacci Pinecone by Seifert Surface

Seifert always comes through with the coolest stuff! I was recently reading about how the Fibonnaci sequence of numbers shows up quite often in plant life so I am psyched to see it layed out so clearly in this example. How does he model all of his mathemtaical precise stuff without succumbing to massive Quaternion Headaches? :)
