I am making stairs for my house here on Horus. To make life easier for guests, I have opted for cylindrical steps. My assumpton is that they can be approached more easily from odd directions. Alas, these prim half-cylinders are just that: half-cylinders. Thus an N meter reduction in X or Y dimension results in an N/2 reduction in the observed size of the object. If I want the next step to be N meters bigger, I must put a size 2N larger into the little box. Why did I not figure that out until just now? An adult life spent reading email, IMs, and web forums in lieu of Polya, Euclid, and Knuth has led me to this sorry state. Maybe I should just to go Toxia and shoot vampires for a while.
